There are bike tours that are all about elevation gain, timing, Strava segments. The Slow Bike Tour is the opposite. What counts here is what lies along the way: the scent of freshly cut grass, the panorama that resets itself around every bend – and the stop at a farm, which isn't a break from the tour, but its heart.

Every Friday, a guided e-mountain bike tour sets off in both Luson and Val di Funes as part of Slow Food Travel. Along the way, we stop at a Slow Food Travel farm or an alpine hut. There, the people behind the products themselves join the table: farmers who explain how their cheese matures, where the spectacled sheep gets its name, and why good food takes time. You taste what grows and is made up here – regional, seasonal, honest.

And the elevation gain? It's there, no question. But thanks to the e-mountain bike, it loses its sting. The tour is deliberately designed so that beginners can keep up too – the motor takes on the effort, you keep the enjoyment.

Slow Bike Val di Funes – along the sunny side of Val di Funes

Every Friday from San Pietro via Santa Maddalena and the Sunnseitenweg to San Giacomo and Tiso – with a farm visit and tasting of regional products. Meeting point: San Pietro tourist office, start 9:00 am (Sep./Oct.: 10:00 am), ages 12 and up, e-bike rental on request.

Slow Bike Luson – along the sunny side of Luson

Every Friday from the Naturhotel Lüsnerhof via Luson Berg and the Luson Alp to the Kreuzwiesen Alm with its own alpine dairy – tasting included, with views of the Peitlerkofel and Plose. Start 10:00 am, return approx. 3:00 pm, e-bike rental on request at the Lüsnerhof.
