Cross-Country Skiing Val di Funes & Luson – Nordic Trails

Cross-Country in Snowy Valleys

Cross-country skiing is perhaps the most beautiful way to absorb the stillness of winter. It is a movement that flows. As the slender skis glide silently over the snow and you find your own pace, your thoughts begin to dissolve.

In the valleys of Lüsen and Villnöss, you will find no haste, only space. Space for your breath, for your rhythm, and for the conscious experience of the snow-covered landscape.

Clarity for mind and body

It is the interplay of cold, crisp mountain air and the inner warmth of movement that makes cross-country skiing so special. Whether you glide gently across the panoramic loops or challenge yourself physically, the track leads you back to yourself.

Here, far from the crowds, your perspective widens. The shimmering peaks of the Dolomites are your constant companions as you carve track after track, replenishing your inner strength.

Lüsen: feeling the expanse

At the Lüsen and Rodenecker Alp, the sky opens up. Up here, at around 2,000 meters, a network of cross-country trails awaits—one that breathes vastness. Over 30 kilometers of tracks lead you through a landscape that comes to a complete standstill in winter.

Starting from the Tulper-Gampis parking, you dive directly into this white world. Whether you prefer the classic style or skating: the trails connect harmoniously all the way to the Würzjoch, offering moments of absolute freedom.

Villnöss: Beneath the Odle

In the presence of the "Pale Mountains," everything else seems small. The cross-country trails in the Funes Valley—especially around the Zans Alp and up toward the Würzjoch—are defined by this alpine majesty.

With approximately 18 kilometers of trails, you will find both gentle loops for beginners and challenging passages that let you feel your own pulse. Every meter is accompanied by the unique and powerful presence of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
